• I will put the needs of the deceased and the bereaved above all other considerations.

 

• I recognise the social, cultural and moral significance of the funeral service in the Australian community which is underpinned by the importance of strong and respectful family relationships.

 

• I will visit the family in order to discuss their needs and to plan the service.

 

• I will compose a funeral service using information and guidance from the family, being sensitive to any conflicting wishesand resolving these to the best of my ability.

 

• I will endeavour in every way to prepare and conduct a funeral service which meets their needs and expectations.

 

• I will ensure that my personal appearance is in keeping with the dignity of the occasion.

 

• I will arrive at the service venue at least 20 minutes prior to the beginning of the service.

 

• I maintain a high standard of service in my professional conduct and practice.

 

• I act in an ethical manner at all times.

 

• I ensure accuracy in the preparation of documents.

 

• I respect the privacy and confidentiality of all parties.

 

• I welcome feedback from the parties
